IMPulse Team Privacy Policy

Thank you for applying to join Team IMPulse for NASA Space Apps 2026. This form collects some basic information about you so the team can be organized fairly and everyone's skills and availability can be taken into account.

Your privacy is important to us.

This is a small, student-run team application — not a company. Your responses will never be sold, rented, licensed, or shared with anyone outside the people organizing this team.

1. Information We Collect

Depending on what you choose to answer, we collect:

Name
Email address
Education details (school/college, grade or year and branch)
Tech stacks and skills you know
LinkedIn and GitHub profile links
Descriptions and repo links of projects you've built (optional)
A CV or resume file (required to submit the application)
Anything else you write in the free-text answers

Questions marked "(Optional)" in the form are never required to submit your application. The CV upload is the one exception — it is required to complete your application.

2. How We Use Your Information

Your responses are used only to:

Understand each applicant's skills and experience.
Fairly assign tasks and roles that match people's strengths.
Plan the team's workload for NASA Space Apps 2026.
Contact you about your application status.
Send a confirmation email that your application was received.

3. We Do Not Sell Your Data

We will never sell your information.

Your responses, resume, and contact details will never be:

Sold to any company.
Shared with advertisers or recruiters.
Provided to marketing agencies.
Used for targeted advertising.
Licensed to third parties.

4. Who Can Access Your Data

Access to application responses and uploaded CVs is limited to the team lead organizing this hackathon team, who reviews them to plan the team and assign roles.

Your information is not shared outside the organizing team unless required by applicable law.

5. Your Email Address

Your email is used only for:

Sending a confirmation that your application was received.
Following up about your role on the team or next steps.
Responding to any questions or feedback you submit.

We do not send spam or promotional messages from third parties.

6. Data Storage

Application responses and uploaded CVs are stored on Supabase, a managed database and file storage service, with access restricted to the team lead. Uploaded files are kept in a private storage bucket and are not publicly accessible.

We take reasonable steps to protect your information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction.

7. Data Retention

We retain application responses and CVs only for as long as reasonably necessary to organize the team for NASA Space Apps 2026 and, where useful, to plan for future events with the same team.

You can request that your data be deleted at any time by contacting the team lead.

You may:

Skip any question marked "(Optional)".
Ask for your submitted data to be deleted at any time.

9. Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy can be edited and updated at any time as the application process evolves. Any updates will be reflected on this page with a revised effective date.
